Wade Neil Newton

Wade Neil Newton, 103 of El Campo, passed away on Dec. 23, 2021. He was born on Nov. 26, 1918 in Maulden, Mo. to the late William Fred and Helena Hansen Newton.  He was former owner of Newton Lumber Company and served in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his daughters Barbara Smith and husband Edward of El Campo, Jane Reynolds and husband Jack of Austin; son Gordon Newton and wife Christine of El Campo; six grandchildren Julie Prause, Russell Smith, Susan Biskup, Paige Crew, Jennifer Burns, and Kimberly Newton; six great grandchildren Garrison Smith, Savanna Smith, Makayla Biskup, Tori Biskup, Kristin Newton, and Kasey Burns; great great grandchild Ava Mulford; and brother Odis Newton of El Campo.

Wade is preceded in death by his parents; wife Carolyn Newton, brothers Ellis and Forrest Newton and sister Ida Mae Bloom. 

Visitation will begin on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021 from 9-10 a.m. at Triska Funeral Home with funeral services following at 10 a.m. with Pastor Beverly Schmidt officiating. 

Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Park with full military honors under the auspices of the American Legion Post 251.
