In week two in the Ganado seven-on-seven league, the undermanned Louise Hornets went 1-1. The Hornets lost to Bay City in the first game and, with no rest, beat Bloomington.
The Hornets with a handful of reserves and a lot of linemen playing skill positions during seven-on-seven showed well in both games. While Bay City beat them, it was a close game.
Against Bloomington, the defense had no answer for sophomore wide receiver Rogeric Schooler who made many leaping grabs in traffic against double and some times triple coverage.
Louise this upcoming season will be looking to replace three of their top five wideouts from last year with Morgan Williams, Kyler Marek and Kristian Munoz all graduating.
During seven-on-seven, Hornets are playing with a quarterback who took no snaps for them last year, sophomore Dustin Roberts is leading Louise currently.
The El Campo seven-on-seven squad will be back in action this morning in the Rockport State Qualifying Tournament. El Campo will play Jourdanton, George West and Ingleside.
